The youngest of six siblings, Nigerian born, Nashville based singer / multi-instrumentalist Blessing Offor has a unique and powerful way of connecting with people through music, accentuated by his inspiring, yet difficult journey. Born blind in one eye, Blessing’s parents sent him to the United States at age six in an effort to restore his vision, though unfortunately he lost his complete eyesight by age 10. Gravitating towards the piano before losing his vision, Blessing’s school teachers helped nurture his talent, and he soon found himself at Belmont University honing his craft in Music City. Hints of pop, Motown, and soul flourish across Blessing’s music as he sings of optimism, hope, and finding silver linings in dark clouds.
Since the release of his debut EP Brighter Days, Blessing Offor has been named both an Amazon Breakthrough Artist of 2023 and Pandora Artist To Watch in 2023. He’s quickly established himself as an artist’s artist, an authentic songwriter and virtuoso musician. His EP’s title track soared up the charts, a bonafide hit that hit #2 on the Billboard charts and stayed there for 7 weeks. It’s success even saw Kelly Clarkson come calling, offering a slot on her show – his national television debut. Blessing’s subsequent song “My Tribe” was featured on a global Coca-Cola ad campaign, which was quickly followed by his first No. 1 – “The Goodness” (TobyMac feat. Blessing Offor). The confluence of musical styles and lyrical content in his repertoire have created a first-rate gumbo dubbed, “the genre of humanity,” as Blessing explores themes of humanity and connection on his debut album My Tribe, out everywhere on January 13th.
